Sara's Bold and Beautiful DC Boudoir Session
When Sara and I first spoke during her consultation, I noticed she was quieter than most people I photograph. Not in a shy way. She was just someone who keeps the best parts of themselves behind a well built door. I respect that. Doors aren't always bad. I’ve got a few of my own.
She struck me as someone who lives in two worlds: the one where she’s polished, professional, and perpetually in control and the one where she’s sultry, complex, maybe even a little wild, though you’d never guess it. That kind of duality always interests me. Most people pretend they’re one thing. The brave ones know they’re at least two.
So I asked her to tell me about those sides, the poised one and the hidden one. She talked about strength and vulnerability, about being seen and being real. No clichés. Just honesty.
On shoot day, we started quietly. Gently. The softness came through like a whisper. Then we leaned into the other part: the sensual, confident, "you're lucky if you get to see this" side. And it was beautiful. Not just the photos, but the shift. The courage. The whole complicated truth of who she is.
And I thought: this is why I do this. Not for the pictures. For the people. I didn't make Sara who she is, I just showed the best sides of it. And because she let me share it with you all...here's what we got.
